The Phone Call

On the evening of Thursday, July 5, 2007, Pete received that glorious phone call. It was Carolina, our adoption coordinator, asking us if we had a few minutes to stop by her office on Friday or Monday to discuss a referral. Wait until Monday, who was she kidding, we had been waiting for this call our whole lives-well not exactly, but we were ready to be parents. She could tell we were just too excited to wait and graciously agreed to meet us at 7:30 the next morning. We barely slept that night. We were just so excited. We were about to be parents of a beautiful baby............?
